Inspection & Maintenance (I&M) Station – NIAIMT

The Inspection & Maintenance (I&M) Station at NIAIMT (National Institute for Automotive Inspection, Maintenance & Training), Silchar, Assam, is a state-of-the-art vehicle testing facility designed to ensure the roadworthiness, safety, and emission compliance of commercial vehicles. Certifications & Approvals

Competency Recognition

Approved on December 26, 2012, to issue fitness certificates for commercial vehicles, equivalent to those issued by Motor Vehicle Inspectors.

Mandatory Testing for Cachar District

As of June 1, 2022, all commercial vehicles in Cachar district must undergo fitness testing at NIAIMT’s Automated Testing Station (ATS).
