Tyre Test Lab

Tyre Test Lab

The Tyre Test Lab at ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology), Manesar, is a facility dedicated to evaluating tyre performance, durability, and safety under various operating conditions. Equipped with advanced technology and testing equipment, the lab supports OEMs, tyre manufacturers, and regulatory bodies in assessing tyre characteristics for safety, efficiency, and compliance with global standards.

Capabilities:

Tyre Rolling Resistance Testing

  • Measures the energy loss of a tyre as it rolls under load, impacting fuel efficiency and CO₂ emissions.
  • Ensures compliance with AIS-142, UNECE R117, and ISO 28580 standards.

Tyre Endurance & Durability Testing

  • Simulates long-term wear and fatigue cycles to evaluate tyre lifespan.
  • Tests tyres under different speeds, loads, and temperatures to predict failure points.

High-Speed Tyre Testing

  • Assesses tyre stability, deformation, and heat buildup at high speeds.
  • Ensures safety compliance for high-performance and high-speed applications.

Tyre Noise Testing

  • Measures external and cabin noise levels generated by tyre-road interaction.
  • Evaluates compliance with pass-by noise regulations (UNECE R51 & R117)..

Tyre Footprint & Contact Patch Analysis

  • Analyzes tyre-road contact area for optimal tread design and load distribution.
  • Helps in enhancing grip, wear resistance, and rolling efficiency.

Tyre Compound & Material Analysis

  • Evaluates rubber composition, tread wear, and sidewall integrity.
  • Supports R&D in eco-friendly and high-performance tyre materials.
